Roma v Man United 1945 BST
First time up against Roma. They look a strong side and of course, Totti is a fantastic player. But Roma don’t get this far very often, and it is hard to say how they are really playing as the Italian league balance this season has been upset by the scandals.
Fergie wants an away goal and hopefully this will mean he will play 4-4-2. Who will play out of Smith, O’Shea and Solskjaer (or even perhaps Saha, although I doubt he will risk him) I don’t know. O’Shea is more likely to play right back and Brown going in the middle to attempt to fill the massive void that is Vidic. So, weighing up all the injuries it will be 4-5-1, won’t it?
I think Roma will sneak this one, 2-1. United to win at Old Trafford 2-0.
I can’t say I’m too fussed by this game. This season is all about the league and winning it back. If we won the FA Cup and Champions League, yet blew it once more to Chelsea in the League I won’t be at all happy.
However, I think Fergie sees a 2nd Champs League win as the Holy Grail and if we win it and the League, he will reverse his previous mistake and retire at the top.
