Preview: Man Utd v Middlesbrough
Another game against ‘Boro. Hopefully they won’t deliberately try to injure Ronaldo like at the end of the last game. Fergie has praised Alan Smith ahead of the game.

I have to agree. Smith ‘ran the line’ against Roma and was a massive factor in their destruction. Whenever he plays, he puts in 100% and he’s from Dirty Leeds, that’s professionalism. He might not have the skill of Ronaldo or Giggs or the poaching finishing of a Van Nistelrooy but he brings commitment and a very unsettling effect on the opposition.
I wonder which Boro will turn up, in particular the on-off Viduka who can win a match for any team when he wants to (another Dirty Leeds player but sort of the opposite of Smith) but quite often doesn’t really want to bother.
We need another win as the Terminator like Chelsea are still on our tail. We’ll still pull the switch and crush them out at Stanford Bridge.
Prediction for today: 2-1 (Ronaldo and Fletcher).
