Chelsea focus too much on their injuries
The Republik Of Mancunia has a great post on Chelsea and their injury problems :-
Jose Mourinho, John Terry, Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard are among the people from the Chelsea camp to place heavy emphasis on their injuries. Rather than acknowledging their level of football was nowhere near Manchester United’s, to one degree or another, they talk about the mountains they had to climb to finish second.
Let us be clear, all teams struggle when they get injuries to key players, but the point that is made is that instread of working with what they have, they bemoaned the losses. Chelsea moaned about losing Terry, but instead of having proper cover, they played Essien as a central defender and lost out in midfield. They are repeating their mistake already and the season hasn’t begun yet.

This isn’t really fair. The only difference I can see between Chelsea and what they are saying now and what fans and even certain players said about us at season’s end last season is… timing. It is sad that they have to start pointing fingers at their injuries before the season begins, true, but fans said that our injuries kept us from the Champions League last season. I even read horrid things like “Of course they can’t get rid of Scholes, Solskjaer, or Saha…without them the phisios are unemployed!” so pointing fingers at/focusing on injuries happens with everyone, even Fergueson’s Red Army.

The difference as I see it is that it is the manager (and players) moaning about the injuries, not just the fans. Let’s face it as fans we can and will moan about everything (even Fergie himself although you think they’d know better than that) but normally Fergie will not complain excessively about injuries.
