Football Shorts: The Nike Broken Foot Edition
I’ll be glad when the pre-season is over and we start playing competitive games. That last friendly against Reading was particularly dull. And I know, friendlies are the time to try out different things, but John O’Shea up front? Silvestre at left-back? What was Fergie thinking about ?
Here are your shorts for today :-
- Nike say that their boots are not made for breaking. Perhaps Wayne Rooney will ask them for a special “extra protection” edition? Maybe he wasn’t given enough milk as a child but something must be happening to produce all these feet injuries and unless someone works it out the slipper like boots are the most obvious reason.
- Lyon want nip in a get Heinze instead of Liverpool. Give us a tin of beans and he is yours.
- The Guardian highlights some rather better 0-0 draws than the Reading game.
