Manchester United v Wigan (Old Trafford, 6th October 12:45)

Scintilating attacking football, stylish passing, overwhelming victories. These are things dreamt of at Old Trafford this season. The theory goes that one day, last season’s form will show up from its holiday, have a look at the opposition and say “I’m going to have you!”.

Wigan must be slightly worried that it is going to be tomorrow; but in reality United have yet to show any signs that the form has returned and this will be a gradual process as new players bed in. What isn’t helping is injuries to key players. With Hargreaves out, the last thing Fergie will have wanted is for Carrick to get a broken elbow. Btw, that sounds really really painful doesn’t it? Fergie has plenty of options in midfield, but they are all attacking ones. Except for John O’shea. Not for the first time, I wonder if Fergie regrets letting Phil Neville go.

Speaking of the Everton captain, he plays a supporting role in this quite frankly bizarre video I found via Who Ate All the Pies. Basically the idea is that Pete Kenyon is actually still a United fan and is working undercover to bring down Chelsea from the inside.
